Always looking for an enthusiastic yacht where he can share his passion for navigation and hospitality, Christophe continuously sailing from dinghy racing to skippering yachts since 1984, now he enjoys working in the yachting industry as full time professional since 2007. Having now more than 25 years experience at sea and 5 transatlantic crossings on several different yacht types and possess strong sailing skills. Furthermore, he has been managing his own company for 15 years, which has allowed him to gain a valuable insight into client’s requests, team leadership and efficient project management.

Yachting Professional Experience

  • October 2013 to present: Chief Officer in charge of the M/Y Mimtee, a 60 metres private CRN yacht with 14 crew members.
  • April 2013 to October 2013: 2nd Officer in charge of the navigation on the M/Y Radiant, a 110 metres private Lürssen yacht with 45 crew members. Join in the shipyard in Germany for the end of a refit then cruising in the med for the season. Responsible for the navigation, electronic navigation systems, GMDSS & bridge procedures. Helicopter landing officer.
  • August 2012 to September 2012: Freelance Chief Mate of the M/Y MAR, a 50 metres intensive charter yacht in the med with 11 crew members. In charge of the deck with 2 deckhands. Safety officer and security officer onboard. Manage the yacht under the full ISM and ISPS code.
  • April 2012 to July 2012: Chief Mate of the M/Y Rahil (ex-Flying Eagle), a 48 metres, privately used in the med. In charge of the deck with a crew of 2 deckhands, the full ISM and ISPS, SSO and safety officer. Join the yacht for the refit in Holland, delivery and start of the season in the French riviera.
  • February 2012 to April 2012: Chief Mate of the S/Y Phocea, a 75 metres, 4 masts yacht originally build in 1986 for racing. In charge of the Deck department with 2 officers and 3 deckhands. Responsible of the rigging and sails. Maintenance of the full ISM and ISPS. Electronics and audio-visual equipments.
  • November 2010 to October 2011 : Captain of S/Y Dapsang (ex-Spiip), a CNB 77 custom sloop (23 meters) with a crew of 2. Two Atlantic crossings and 8 consecutive months cruising the Caribbean and the Mediterranean (> 12,000 NM)
  • August 2009 to November 2011 : For the same owner of M/Y Multiple, I moved on his S/Y IDLE, a 33 meters CNB sailing yacht, as First Mate/Engineer then Relief Captain in charge of the deck, sails, engines and IT/AV on board. Since then, the yacht cruised in the Med, Caribbean islands, Panama canal, down to the Galapagos islands and did two transatlantic crossings (> 20,000 NM).
  • April 2008 to August 2009 : Bosun and IT/AV officer on board of M/Y Multiple (50m), in charge of deck duties, navigational bridge watch, responsible for all the electronics on board (Satellites systems, navigation equipment, networks and computers, AV and multimedia systems), tenders driving (Novurania/HamiltonJet) and dinghy sailing.
  • Winter 2007-2008 : Freelance Skipper for Sunsail, Saint-Martin (French West Indies)
  • Since 1997 : ForceDouce, founder and active skipper of a Belgium association that help disabled children to improve their self-confidence using sail activities and regattas. We have participated to several official French and Belgian Championships. (http://www.forcedouce.org)

2007 : UKSA Ocean graduate: Based in Cowes (UK) more than 2500 NM and 6 months intensive navigation training, offshore and ocean passages. Shore based training including navigation (Coastal & Celestial), IRPCS, SSO, STCW95, yacht maintenance techniques, radar (with ARPA training) and General Operator Certificate.

Since 1984 Skipper : Skipper on monohull and catamarans sailing yachts up to 84’ including:

  • Skipper for coastal navigations in Brittany, UK, Ireland, Corsica, Côte d’Azur, Corsica, French west Indies Caribbean, Turkey, Belgium coast… since 1984;
  • Tactics and/or Skipper for National Sport Boat Cup of North Sea (North of France and Belgium) from 1999 to 2004. Best result: 6th of 18 boats and on French National Championship of First Class 8 (One Design 30” sport boat) in 2003 and 2004. Best result: 4th of 50 boats;
